Sunday 29th September saw the second ‘Tour De Farms’ cycling challenge take place on the Island. The event raised £4,655 which will go directly to providing patient care at Hospice Isle of Man!
Hospice along with generous sponsors Isle of Man Creamery, Cycle 360 and Green Mann Spring created a day to remember, with over 130 cyclists having taken on the challenge. The event is a unique farm-to-fork social cycling experience, designed to bring together cycling enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Following the success of last year’s ride, the 2024 event was even bigger and better. Cyclists embarked on a scenic 50 mile route through beautiful pastures and diverse terrains, stopping at three local dairy farms.
The route took cyclists to Glendown Farm in Port St Mary, Ballacricket Farm near Cringle Plantation and Ballamoar Farm in Patrick, all of whom are farmer producers of Isle of Man Creamery.
Isle of Man Creamery Managing Director, Findlay Macleod said: ‘Tour de Farms is fast becoming a highlight of the local cycling calendar, combining a challenging 50 mile ride with delicious local food and drink.
It’s great to have our farmer producers involved in the day and we’d like to thank them for their ongoing support of the event, which helps to raise vital funds for Hospice Isle of Man. We’re very much looking forward to the next Tour de Farms in 2025!’
Hospice would like to thank everyone who entered the event, and sponsors Isle of Man Creamery, Cycle 360 and Green Mann Spring, without this vital support, the event full of fun, community spirit and raising money for a vital cause, wouldn’t take place.
Event organisers are already looking ahead to 2025, and endeavour to make the event even better.
