As Hospice Isle of Man gear up for their important 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2023. Another special number, 65, was announced and celebrated this week.
The 65 in question is the £65,000 total raised so far from the Jacksons and Motor Mall initiative where the multi-brand car dealership donates a fixed amount of money from every car sold, with their customers given the option to match the donation.
Jacksons Head of Business Darren Moore was delighted to hand over the latest cheque. “When we started working with Hospice back in February we always had a target in mind of raising at least £50,000 a year. To hit £65,000 in just 10 months has exceeded all our expectations and to see how much it means to the amazing team here at Hospice has just made us want to do even more next year, which we will.
Our initiative of a small donation from each sale we make is something we would implore the island business community to consider. Rather than a one-off donation, this initiative is sustainable every year and is critical to ensure that Hospice can continue to perform the essential role they play in our society, with ongoing funding they can rely on.”
Motor Mall Head of Sales David Cavanagh was full of praise for their teams, and their customers. “It is the astonishing levels of support from our amazing customers that has helped us reach this important milestone. It shows how much goodwill there is towards to the Hospice, and we must offer our sincere thanks to each and every one of our customers who have made this possible.
It’s also a fantastic achievement from our team, from every department, and something our business can be really proud of. We know what impact the work Hospice do and just how passionate their wonderful team are. It’s so important for our island that we all help support their work.”
Vanessa Smith, Head of Income Generation at Hospice Isle of Man is absolutely delighted with the support received from Jacksons. “We’d like to thank the teams at Jacksons and Motor Mall for their incredible hard work over the last 10 months to raise this astonishing amount of money for us. With the challenging times that we, and many other charities are facing at the moment, support from businesses is absolutely vital to ensure we can continue to be here into the future for our patients and their families. For this, and other support we receive, we are truly grateful.”
For the special handover, the Jacksons team arrived in two Aston Martins from their showroom on Cooil Road for members of the Hospice team to have a play in, which did break the tranquil silence of the Hospice’s lovely location for a few minutes, but also generated a lot of smiles.
Jacksons and Motor Mall have committed to continue the ongoing funding into 2023 and will be looking at new ways to help further in the Hospice’s 40th Anniversary Year.
