A supportive research grant
In conjunction with their Community Awards Programme, the Manx Lottery Trust has provided a generous grant in support of the needs assessment work being undertaken by our Research Team. The Community Awards Programme is funded by the Manx Lottery Trust as a delegated partner of the Big Lottery Fund.
Trevor Butler, Secretary to the Trust, said:
“We were delighted to meet the research team and enjoyed the comprehensive presentation from Professor Sarah McGhee. The Trustees were interested to learn of the base information already collected to enable this initiative to move forward.”
Hospice Chief Executive, Anne Mills said:
“We are extremely grateful to the Manx Lottery Trust and the Community Awards Programme for their continued support of Hospice. This much-needed funding will enable the research team to embark upon vital work within the Island community, carrying out a Needs Assessment which will inform an Island Plan for Integrated Palliative and End of Life Care.
In addition to the kindness and generosity of the Manx Lottery Trust, on behalf of Hospice I would also like to extend our grateful thanks to the Gough Ritchie Charitable Foundation and the Elizabeth Clucas Charitable Trust for their wonderful support in providing funding for additional resources for this important initiative.”
The work carried out by our research team will involve gathering evidence that will enable us to make decisions on how we should develop our services in the future to best suit the ever-changing needs of our community.
