Awards for Excellence 2024 Winners

We are delighted to announce that last week we WON the award for Employer of the Year in the Media Isle of Man Awards for Excellence!

It is truly special to be recognised for the work and effort that goes into making our Hospice a great place to work and to volunteer for both our colleagues and our volunteers. To quote our Head of People and Culture, Anne Shorrock during her acceptance speech “it takes a special kind of person to work at Hospice”, and it truly does. This award is evidence that we work for an amazing organisation which delivers excellence to the Manx public, while living our values every day.

Not only did we win this incredible award, but our Chief Executive John Knight also took away the award for Leader of the Year – congratulations to John. The Leader of the Year award does not accept nominations, rather a list of potential candidates is compiled throughout the year. We understand that, as John was on the judging panel for the Awards, this gave the Awards for Excellence a bit of a headache trying to keep the secret!  As he is still on holiday John could not accept the award in person, however he did accept it via video message from Costa Rica – very stylish John!

It really was an incredible night and we'd like to congratulate everyone else who won, all truly deserving winners.
