Board of Governors 'Hat Activities' - Chris Eaton

Here at Hospice, our Board of Governors like to get involved where they can to gain a greater understanding of the different roles and responsibilities of our teams.

Over the last couple of years, one of our Board members has been randomly selected at a time to participate in a variety of different activities and initiatives across our charity. This allows them to collaborate with different members of our team, and gain a deeper insight into our day-to-day operations that takes place to support our patients and their loved ones,

Board Member, Chris Eaton, recently undertook some activities and has kindly written his experiences for us below:

"I have been fortunate enough to carry out a number of “Governor’s Hat” activities over the last two years, from experiencing the incredibly detailed and empathetic shift handover from night shift to day shift in the In Patient’s Unit, to helping Tracy in the gardens.

All my experiences have been marked by an incredibly focused, professional and joyful approach to what we do and how we do it. I have also been lucky enough to speak to a number of our clinical, non-clinical and volunteer staff and am always impressed with their unremitting positivity which is then transmitted to the majority of our patients and their families and turns the whole Hospice environment into a much more positive and enjoyable space than many outsiders could possibly contemplate."

Thank you so much to our Board Members for really getting involved in our operations and for their support of our fantastic team!
