Cheryl Moorhouse, is one of our fantastic Lymphoedema Team who last month attended a conference. Below she gives us a summary of her time there:
"Last month, I had the privilege of attending the British Lymphology Society (BLS) Conference at Chester Racecourse from October 7th to 9th, and it was truly inspiring. The sessions were packed with invaluable information, but what really stood out were the personal stories shared by people living with lymphoedema.
One of the most memorable moments for me was meeting Didi Okoh, who took home a bronze medal at this year’s Paralympics in France. Hearing about her journey—the resilience, the determination, and the highs and lows—was incredibly uplifting. She reminded us that, even with the daily challenges of a chronic condition, people can achieve extraordinary things. Her story reinforced just how important it is for us to continue our work supporting those with lymphoedema.
This conference was a wonderful reminder of the power of connection and community in our field. I’m looking forward to bringing the knowledge and inspiration back to our team as we continue supporting our patients in every way we can."
