We are extremely honoured that our Project ECHO team were nominated for The Sure Award - Innovation in Technology, at this years' Isle of Man Newspapers' Awards for Excellence.
This year the annual awards night was held on Thursday 14th November, and our Project ECHO team attended with representatives from local Care Homes and the wider Project ECHO team from across the UK.
As part of our Scholl Academic Centre, Project ECHO is a model of education which uses multi-point video conferencing, allowing healthcare professionals to share experiences and discuss techniques simultaneously.
Over the past year, Project ECHO Isle of Man has been a "hub" for knowledge, working alongside many of the Island's nursing homes to virtually-discuss relevant healthcare topics such as nutrition, hydration and medication. This platform allows high quality, case-based learning amongst specialists without the need to travel, 'moving knowledge not people'.
The result of this innovative technological method providing educational opportunities sees healthcare providers not only across the Island, but indeed all over the world benefit from the shared knowledge, developing their skills, as well as the overall care and compassion they deliver to their patients.
