Education Partner announced for The Big Splash

Hospice Isle of Man are over the moon to announce that they have gained the first partner for their Wild in Art 2022 trail; The Big Splash, one of the largest mass participation events ever to come to the Isle of Man. This world-class public art trail will be live for 12 weeks from May – September 2022.

The Isle of Man Arts Council are delighted to be working with Hospice Isle of Man as be the Education Partner of The Big Splash, assisting with the learning and education side of the Wild in Art trail.

Arts Development Manager, Jane Corkill said “As a sponsored body of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture and a UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man partner, we recognise the immediate benefits this exciting public art trail will present for our whole Island. We are very strongly aligned with the aim of The Big Splash which promotes the importance of creativity as fundamental to our wellbeing and sense of place, inspiring and educating people of all ages to enjoy the arts. There is so much creative talent here on the Island, and we are looking forward to investing in the Island’s creative community whilst developing knowledge, skills and understanding through this extraordinary project and partnership.”

More than 30 individually designed dolphin sculptures will form a trail of discovery across the Island next Spring, encouraging residents and visitors to the Isle of Man to explore the environment from an exciting new perspective – while promoting wellbeing and an active lifestyle. Each of these sculptures will be sponsored by local businesses who will benefit from a range of PR opportunities prior to and throughout the trail itself.

The Big Splash project team is keen to connect with other businesses across the Island. With their confirmed Education Partner and a significant number of ongoing conversations taking place, the project is proving to be popular.
