Hospice Isle of Man welcomes the recent news that end of life care will become a legal right for everyone in England who would benefit from access to palliative care.
A recent Independent Review of end of life care on the Isle of Man recommended that a joint oversight group is established to ensure that there is equitable access to specialist care at the right time which will improve patient outcomes and provide a better experience for all who would benefit from palliative care services.
The joint oversight group consists of Manx Care, Hospice, third sector organisations and compassionate communities where professionals are working in partnership to action the recommendations of the review. It is hoped that the Isle of Man Government will adopt similar legislation.
