HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh

Hospice Isle of Man would like to express our sorrow at the news of the death of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has shown incredible support for many charities throughout his lifetime, including the Hospice movement. Either through public support or giving his time privately, his commitment to the service of others was unwavering. 

Not only was The Duke's own personal commitment to charities inspiring, the value of service to others and the importance of giving back to our community was instilled through the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Millions of young people, because of this award, have gone on to do many fantastic things for charities. We have been very fortunate to benefit from this directly here at Hospice thanks to many Manx Duke of Edinburgh Award Participants. 

Our thoughts and condolences are with Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this difficult time.
