Following the Isle of Man Government and Department of Health and Social Care Guidance, Hospice Isle of Man is pleased to announce that we can now return to following standard use of infection prevention control, and that social distancing is no longer required within our setting.
This is such heart-warming news for our patients and their families as we lift the restrictions on our visitor guidance, which were put in place to protect the wellbeing of those using our services, their families, our staff and our volunteers.
As well as adapting practice where appropriate, throughout our Island’s lockdown our team did a fantastic job of ensuring our patients were able to keep in touch with their families and loved ones through the use Zoom Technology. Being able to stay connected throughout these challenging times really did support our patients at a time when they needed it most, and we are pleased to be able to continue the use of this technology in the future.
We would like to thank everyone for their understanding over recent months. Through our Island’s co-ordinated efforts, we have been able to create our own “Manx Bubble” and we are pleased to be moving forward in a safe and controlled way, welcoming visitors back through our doors to support their loved ones in our care, so that we can continue supporting them to live well, their way, to the end of their lives.
