A diagnosis of a life-limiting or life-threatening illness can be very distressing for patients, family, friends and carers.
The emotional and practical challenges ahead can be daunting and overwhelming. People often describe finding it difficult to express their emotions and to talk to others about the challenges they face.
Although these feelings and anxieties are perfectly normal, there is no need for you to cope alone. At Hospice, psychological support is freely available from the point of diagnosis, if and when you choose to use it.
Our Psychological Support Team are skilled in assessing your personal issues and working with you, to meet your needs and assisting you in overcoming any emotional challenges you or your family may face.
Whether you are a patient, relative, friend or carer, you can talk in confidence, wherever is convenient or most comfortable for you, either in your own home or here at Hospice.
