Breaking Bad News

A session for all healthcare professionals to explore what 'bad news' could be and how to have a sensitive and honest conversation with patients and those who matter to them.

At the end of the course I will be able to:

Discuss what we mean by "bad news"
Utilise a range of skills to improve communication, empathy, questioning skills, listening skills
Accurately assess and gauge information needs prior to delivering significant information.
Handle patient cues and how they are relevant when delivering significant information
Tailor significant and complex information to individual needs
Handle patents' emotions more effectively
